Crown Point Ecology Center in Bath, OH is pleased to announce its 3rd. annual “Local to Global” dinner series. The first of the three monthly dinners will be held on February 21 and will feature foods from Morocco. The presentation and light dinner will be prepared and presented by Hanan, a native Moroccan who has lived in America for five years.
She is excited for this experience to share her traditional Moroccan specialties. Her menu will begin with mini Moroccan quiches served with a glass of wine before dinner. She will next serve Moroccan vegetable soup, followed by chicken couscous. A delicious Moroccan dessert will conclude the tasty dinner. During dessert she will speak briefly on her country, their culture, family life and traditions.
Morocco, a North African country bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, is distinguished by its Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences. Marrakesh’s medina, a mazelike medieval quarter, offers entertainment in its Djemaa el-Fna square and souks (marketplaces) selling ceramics, jewelry and metal lanterns. The capital Rabat’s Kasbah of the Udayas is a 12th-century royal fort overlooking the water.
The Moroccan evening is the first of three presentations. The second will feature foods from Slovakia on March 14, and from Nepal on April 11, 2019. Crown Point is located at 3220 Ira Rd., Akron, OH 44333. The price is $45/per person. Seating is limited, so make your reservation early. Reservations can be made by calling 330-668-8992, Ext. 106 with your credit card, or by sending a check to Crown Point Ecology Center, P.O. Box 484, Bath, OH 44210.
