Taste of Earth, Crown Point’s 20th annual dinner/auction benefit gala on August 17, 2018, was an especially lovely occasion from start to finish. Nearly 250 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the lawn where Akron’s premier bartender Ozzie delighted guests with a martini bar and a delicious lemon cocktail. The evening was made even more special since it also marked Bath’s bi-centennial. Bath co-founder Jason Hammond arrived in Bath in 1810 with his brother-in-law Jonathan Hale. The two are credited with founding Bath in 1818. Mary Anne Krejci and Libby Upton, co-chaired the evening We welcomed Betsy Kling, chief meteorologist from Channel 3 as our Celebrity Chair. Her energy is contagious!
Other aspects of the evening included a delicious dinner served by Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering with summer vegetables from Crown Point.
The “Year of Fine Dining” Restaurant Raffle was a hit once again! Twelve Akron/Cleveland area up-scale restaurants each donated a $100 gift certificate, treating the winning bidder to twelve wonderful dinners.
The chair will be Gina Krieger, owner of Seven Grains Natural Market located in Tallmadge. Co-chair is Kim Marchetta. If you would like to join the fun Taste of Earth Committee or provide an auction item, please contact Ellen at Crown Point at firstname.lastname@example.org.
