Inclusive experiences across the farm.
At Crown Point Ecology Center, we are committed to providing welcoming and accessible opportunities for people to experience our farm, trails, programs, and events. We continuously work to improve access and remove barriers wherever possible.

Two ways to borrow your way onto the trails.
Our 115 acres, with roughly 3.25 miles of trails, are open to the public from dawn to dusk, every day, free of charge. If walking the grass and trails is hard for you, you can borrow equipment from us at no cost.
GRIT Freedom Chair Spartan
A lever-driven, all-terrain wheelchair with mountain-bike wheels, made for ground a standard wheelchair can't handle. Community Fund Ohio made it possible, and it is approved for every trail on the property.
Rollator walker
For visitors who want support along the way. It is lent on the same simple terms as the GRIT chair.
Simple Steps
Both the GRIT chair and Rollator are FREE to borrow and use at Crown Point, and beyond. Just follow these steps for further information.

Call 330-668-8992 or email info@crownpointecology.org with any questions. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Sign the waiver
Stop by the office at 3220 Ira Road. If you are under 18 a parent or guardian must sign for you.
Go explore
Take it out for up to 24 hours, then bring it back to the office. (Need longer? Ask us and we'll talk it through.)
Good to know
A companion is strongly recommended, not required. Our staff are not able to assist with transfers.
Being a working farm, not all of our areas are currently wheelchair accessible.
Once you arrive: Both chairs are stored in the main office building. Please call us on 330 668 8992, if you would like one of our team to deliver them where you have parked.

Groups serving people with disabilities are part of the farm every week.
Every week, groups serving people with disabilities spend time at Crown Point for farm education and workforce development. Special-education classrooms visit on field trips too. Real farm work builds confidence, and everyone deserves a turn at it.
Bring your group
- Please reach out 4 to 6 weeks before your preferred dates.
- Tell us about your group's size, schedule, and goals, plus any support needs.

Free and Open
Dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, no reservation needed.
Natural Ground
Our fields and trails are grass and earth, not pavement, and they can be muddy. Dress for the weather. The trails are open rain or shine.
Quiet by Design
Crown Point is often quieter than many public attractions, with open spaces and room to step away when needed. Noise-cancelling headphones are available for visitors with sensory sensitivities.
Service Animals Welcome
Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome on our trails too. Questions about visiting with a service animal? Email zale@crownpointecology.org or call 330-668-8992.
Still in Progress
We are working on an accessible adult-sized changing table, and it is not available yet. We would rather say so plainly.
Places to Rest
Benches and picnic tables are set out around the property.
Accessibility at Crown Point goes beyond everyday visits.
Our annual All Accessibility Fall Fest is designed to make autumn traditions more welcoming and accessible for everyone.
