At Crown Point Ecology Center, we believe that every child thrives when learning is rooted in nature. Our youth programs combine hands-on experiences, farm-based learning, and exploration of the natural world to spark curiosity, build community, and nurture a lifelong love for the Earth.

Backyard Chickens 101
Children 8+ welcome with a guardian or caregiver
An introduction to backyard chickens — behavior, anatomy, feed, predators, eggs, and more — taught alongside Crown Point's own two resident flocks, with real hands-on time. Not a deep dive, just a real, honest sense of what keeping chickens actually involves before you decide to try it yourself.
