Living Soil: The Hidden World That Feeds Us
Right beneath our feet is a living, breathing world that makes everything on the farm possible.
Healthy soil is the heart of thriving plants, clean water, and resilient ecosystems. It’s the foundation of the food we eat and the communities we nurture.
Join us on Wednesday, May 13, from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm for the first gathering in our four-part Rooted Conversations Speaker Series at Crown Point Ecology Center.
In this conversation, we’ll explore what healthy soil really means, why it matters for the food we grow and the water we drink, and how caring for soil helps build strong, resilient ecosystems and communities.
Together, we’ll slow down and get curious about the land beneath us, uncovering the rich life often hidden from view. After all, this is where all food systems begin.
Our speaker for the evening is Maggie Rivera, Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator with OSU Extension Summit County Team. Maggie brings deep knowledge and a heartfelt connection to the land.
