Soil to Soul: a field trip that grows more than science knowledge.

A hands-on farm experience for schools, scouts & community groups on 115 certified-organic acres in Akron, Ohio. Real farm work grows confidence, empathy, and connection — not just a lesson plan.

What your students will practice.

Soil to Soul is built around real farm work, not a script — which means students naturally practice the skills researchers call social-emotional learning. We ground our approach in CASEL's five core competencies.

01

Self-Awareness

Recognizing and naming what they feel while working — frustration pulling weeds, pride after a hard chore.

02

Self-Management

Practicing patience and focus during animal care routines and repetitive farm tasks.

03

Social Awareness

Understanding the farm as an interdependent system — noticing the needs of animals and peers.

04

Relationship Skills

Cooperating with peers on shared garden or animal-care tasks.

05

Responsible Decision-Making

Making real choices with real consequences — how gently to handle an animal, how carefully to harvest a plant.
