Hot Jazz in a Cool Old Barn
The Jack Schantz Jazz Unit, featuring Barbara Rosene, reimagines the Great American Songbook — Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Henry Mancini — with brand-new arrangements by Jack Schantz, under the roof of Crown Point's 1910 Century Barn.
Generously sponsored by David and Kimberly Marchetta
Real jazz credentials most barn venues never get close to.
This latest edition of the Jazz Unit is a must-see experience.
Jack Schantz
Former artistic director of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra (1994–2009) and longtime Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Akron. Jack has performed alongside Tony Bennett, Sarah Vaughan, Mel Tormé, and Nancy Wilson — and toured nationally with the Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Woody Herman orchestras. Northeast Ohio's standard of excellence in jazz.
Barbara Rosene
Ohio-born, New York-based, and widely acclaimed for her rare ability to make classic jazz standards feel utterly alive. Barbara has performed with both Woody Allen's New Orleans Jazz Band and the late Les Paul, as well as Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks.
