Step by step

How it works.

Apply online

Plots open for applications each spring. When the season begins, you’ll be able to apply here. Plots are assigned first‑come, first‑served; once all eight are claimed, a waitlist opens.

Attend a seasonal orientation

Required for all participants — covers organic growing practices, garden expectations, tool and water access, and how to communicate with staff.

Sign your participant agreement

A short expectations agreement and standard farm paperwork, completed before the season starts.

Grow, April through October

Certified organic inputs only — no synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Crown Point's farmers can point you toward organic seed and supply sources.

Clear your bed by the end-of-season deadline

So it's ready for tilling and the next gardener come spring.

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need gardening experience?
No. Beginners are welcome — this program is designed to support gardeners of all experience levels.
What happens if I can't tend my plot for a while?
Life happens. Communicate with staff if challenges arise — plots abandoned without communication may be reclaimed and replanted.
Will my produce be donated?
Your personal harvest is yours to keep. For our Harmonized Good Agricultural Practices certification we cannot accept excess produce donations, but you are more than welcome to share any with your neighbours.
Are pesticides or synthetic fertilizers allowed?
No. Only certified organic inputs are permitted, with no exceptions.
What size are the beds, exactly?
Two sizes are offered — a 7 ft bed and a 14 ft bed. Exact dimensions are shared at orientation before the season starts.
