What a Day at Camp Looks Like
Each morning begins with a walk across dewy fields to feed the goats and Kunekune pigs, check on the chickens, and see what’s growing in the Giving Gardens. Campers then rotate through stations that combine science, creativity, and play:
8:45 - 9:00 a.m. Arrival and Morning Greeting
9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Barnyard Buddies Include Hands-On Time with Goats, Chickens and Pigs.
10:15 – 11:30 a.m. Giving Gardens — Planting, Harvesting, Tasting, and Learning How Food Grows
11:30 – 12:15 p.m. Lunch and Free Outdoor Play
12:15 – 1:30 p.m. Forest and Pond Exploration — Eco-Science Experiments, Insect Hunts, and Habitat Discovery
1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Nature Art, Group Games, and Reflection
Every day is different! Some days we’ll track animal prints in the woods, other days we’ll collect seeds for pollinator habitats or build fairy houses and stick forts under the trees.
Campers get muddy, laugh often, and discover new confidence in the great outdoors.
Why Crown Point?
Unlike any other camp in Northeast Ohio, Crown Point is a living classroom—a place where kids learn by doing. Our 115-acre farm blends working farm, woodlands, and open meadows, creating endless opportunities for exploration.
Here, campers:
Learn where food really comes from and why soil health matters.
Form friendships through teamwork and shared discovery.
Connect to the environment in ways that last long after summer ends.
Our inclusive, small-group environment welcomes all learners including homeschoolers and children with disabilities or sensory needs. Counselors are trained in ecology education and outdoor safety, ensuring every camper feels supported and seen.
Tuition supports our Giving Gardens and food-access programs—your child’s week at camp helps feed local families.
“It’s the first camp my child came home from every day excited to go back. The staff made her feel capable and confident.”
“My daughter came home every day full of stories—feeding the pigs, finding frog eggs in the pond, and eating cherry tomatoes she picked herself. She learned so much and didn’t want it to end!”
